Architect Dermot Bannon sets out to prove that with a little vision, the requisite planning permission and the right design anyone’s dream home could be the one they’re already living in.

In this series, Dermot completely restructures eight family homes. In every case his brief is extensive because these homeowners are not moving - what they need Dermot to do for them is create their home for life. This year the projects and budgets are bigger than ever, but so too is the scope and value. Dermot's clients have even greater requirements and higher expectations. With planning permission required for almost all of the builds Dermot has been working with his clients for an entire year.

Many of the builds started last September and continued through the winter, a winter of floods and freezing conditions. In this series walls tumble and sites are snowed in. As the projects near completion one couple admit they'd never do it again....
